FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I SUBMIT A VIDEO AUDITION INSTEAD OF ATTENDING CAST AUDITIONS?

We will accept video auditions on a case by case basis for anyone with extenuating circumstances. Please contact us at info@paramountwg.org to request a video audition.

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS?

It is ideal that potential candidates have thorough dance or colorguard training prior to auditioning for an Independent World colorguard. However, we will not deny anyone the opportunity to come audition or gain experience through the audition process with Paramount Winter Guard. Each auditioning performer will receive thorough feedback from our staff for them to consider and practice.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AUDITIONS?

Please wear comfortable, form-fitting, solid, dark-colored dance or athletic wear. Hair needs to be pulled back out of your face, and jewelry is not to be worn while rehearsing.

HOW DO I PAY MY AUDITION FEE?

You may pay the audition fee by visiting our ticketing system or in person when you arrive at auditions. We will only accept card or cash in person and all card payments will be subject to a service fee.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING?

Please bring your $50, non-refundable Audition Fee or have paid ahead of time with Eventbrite, a great attitude, and all your passion and desire for performing. It will help you come prepared with knowledge of our rehearsal calendar (on our website) as well as any potential scheduling or financial issues you may have. It is also important that you have a solid financial plan in place for how you will meet the responsibilities of paying membership dues. Flags will be provided for you, and we will have some rifles and sabres on hand to borrow. However, if you own equipment, or have access to your own, please bring those just in case--as we have quite a lot of performers who will attend auditions. Meals will not be provided for you, but you may bring your own or travel to various restaurants in the immediate area. Each meal break will be 60 minutes. It is also recommended that you bring hand sanitizer/sanitizer wipes as well as any protective gear you may need such as knee pads.

DO I NEED TO LIVE IN ATLANTA TO MARCH?

No. While you will need to attend all rehearsals throughout the season, you do not have to live in Atlanta to do so. We have had members live out of town and march the entirety of a season. If you need help with housing arrangements, please e-mail us at info@paramountwg.org and we can assist.

WHAT IS THE COST TO MARCH?

The dues for participation this season will be estimated at $2,200. This will cover instruction, uniform costs, jackets and warm-ups, cost of attending competition events, rehearsal site costs, and more. If offered a contract, you must provide a $375 deposit by October 26th in order to accept and secure a position on the cast.
