peak performance clinics
10:00a-5:00p (Registration begins at 9:30a; classes begin at 10:00a; and there will be an hour break for lunch).
The cost of the clinic is $35, which includes a clinic t-shirt. We are also organizing lunches for $5 per person, which you can pay for at registration on the day of the clinic.
WHAT TO WEAR/ WHAT TO BRING:
Performers are expected to wear comfortable, fitting, (black or solid, dark colors) dance or athletic attire. Hair should be groomed and pulled back, nicely, out of the face. Bring a small gym towel, as it will get sweaty. Bring athletic sneakers or dance sneakers/shoes to have, in case. We encourage everyone to bring their own equipment. We will have some to borrow, as well.
What will be taught?
Classes will be taught in Dance, Flag, Sabre, and Rifle and will accommodate all skill levels--beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Performance styles, skills and tricks, expressive range and other philosophies will be explored in each class. You will have a variety of classes in which to choose, to accommodate your comfort level in each area. The goal of our clinics is to give you tools, skills, ideas, and concepts to take home and, as you practice and achieve them, allow you to grow your range. There will be things in the classes that push you and expand your performance horizons, and it is ok if you don't achieve something right away, or even during the clinic. Some skills and ideas take time!
Who should attend?
EVERYONE is invited to attend!!! Our team of instructors will assess each performer's skill level and assist, regardless of skill level, in helping everyone have the most educational and positive experience possible.
My ride is not participating in the clinic. Can they stay and watch in the stands?
There will be a separate waiting area for those not participating. In addition, there are many retail shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theatre, etc., close to the school for your ride to wait out the day. We would like to keep the gym reserved just for those participating in the Clinic process for the classes. We will have a "show-and-tell" portion for performances the last hour of the clinic, and all are welcome to come watch.
